In 43 A.D. Emperor Claudius mounted a full scale invasion of Britain.
By A.D. 61 Queen Boudicca was provoked into revolution, sacking several cities until her
defeat at the battle of Watling Street.
By 84 A.D. the remaining parts of Britain were brought into the empire, with the exception
of Scotland which was never fully conquered.
Instead, Emperor Hadrian built a wall between 122 A.D. and 130 A.D. to keep the northern tribes
at bay.
